This peak is next to the Mt.Everest. To get successful trekking achievement there should be proper guidelines and experiences to do trek. It lies in the 6476m in height. This trek start from Kathmandu.

Trip Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu

We will be at the airport upon your arrival as you begin to see the Himalayan range of the Nepalese sky. Our team will arrange transportation with your hotel vehicle. The team will assist you until check-in at the hotel. When everything is done, you can lie on the bed after a long flight. Or visit our office for information and facts about Mera Peak Climbing. In the evening you are invited to a dinner dedicated to a warm welcome. During this time we get to know each other better.

Preparation Day

Preparation Day for the Mera trek is a crucial time to ensure you have everything in order for the upcoming adventure. It involves checking and organizing your trekking gear, confirming necessary permits, and finalizing logistics. You might spend the day gathering last-minute supplies, double-checking your backpack, and familiarizing yourself with the route and itinerary. It’s also an excellent opportunity to acclimatize to the altitude by exploring nearby areas and resting before the trek begins. Use this day wisely to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey through the beautiful Mera trek.

Way to Lukla and trek for Chutanga (4 hrs)

You begin your quest to the top of Mera. Like most treks in the Everest region, this expedition begins with a 45-minute flight to Lukla (2,800 m). The flight will be one of the best experiences of your life. You can observe an unreal view of the entire Himalayan range and the greenest mountains. The air show ends after landing at Lukla Airport, one of the most dangerous airports in the world. You can feel your heart leap out of your mouth as you land. Lukla is the gateway to all Everest adventures from Mt Everest Expedition to Everest Base Camp Trek. When you arrive in Lukla, you will receive a regional permit to proceed from the local government. There are several restricted villages that require a permit to enter. After receiving the permit, you will go east from Luka to Chhuthang (3020m). On the way, you will pass several small Sherpa settlements scattered over short distances. You move forward touching and seeing Buddhist hand walls and prayer wheels. Then comes a dense rhododendron and pine forest that guides you through paths less traveled. This forest is located under the Kalo Himal mountain range. There are many trails on the regular trail that can be confusing, so stay connected with your group and guide. Just follow the roads connected to the stream as they all go to Chhutang, your final stop.

Trek start from Chutanga to Tuli Kharka through Zatrwa La (8 hrs)

After breakfast at Chhuthang you will proceed to Tuli Kharkha (4600m). Before the road you will reach a steep fordable hill. This is the first grueling climb of the Mera Peak trek as you try your best to reach the top of the Zatrawala Pass (4600m). From the top, you can enjoy a scenic view of Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak, Number Himal, Lumding Himal and many others. And then you descend to Thuli Kharka via Chattre for almost 1-2 hours. Along the way you will pass through some yak pastures. Yaks grazing in such a beautiful landscape is an unreal and iconic sight. The last few hours of hiking are fun because you get more views like this. Your amazing trekking day ends when you finish the scenic descent to Thuli Kharka. Thuli Kharka is a large pasture with several main rooms. Your stay is in a single cabin.

Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe (6-7 hrs)

The trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe in the Mera Trek is a rewarding journey through pristine wilderness. The trail takes you through dense rhododendron forests, picturesque valleys, and tranquil streams. With a duration of 6-7 hours, the trek offers a moderate challenge, but the stunning views of snow-capped peaks and the peaceful surroundings make it worthwhile. As you hike through the enchanting landscapes, you’ll feel a sense of serenity and closer to nature, creating lasting memories along the way.

Trek from Kothe to Thaknak (6-7 hrs)

After staying overnight at Kothe, it is now time to move on to Mera Peak Climbing. Today’s destination will be Thangnak, whose steps must be retraced along the Hinkujoe River. This river-lined road takes you to Gondishung. Walking in the shadow of Mera Peak, you reach Gondishung and have lunch there. A few steps away from Gondishung, you can see the two-century Buddhist Gompa Lungsumgba Gompa. People believe that lighting this Gompaga shrine will make Mera Peak Climbing successful. At noon you will find rock art depicting an exact image of Mera peak. Before the last stretch to reach Thangnak (4326m), take photos from there. From here, the trail is an easy hike, so you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You can reach Thangnak with very little pain and many views. Thangnak is a pasture where local residents can only be seen grazing their yaks in summer. But there are some simple lodges that provide food and accommodation on the climbs of Mera Peak.

Trek from Thaknak to Khare (6 hrs)

Mera-peak climbing route goes from Thangnak towards Khare. It’s a bit of a difficult hiking day because you have to walk along steep moraine trails. Moraine road runs from Dig Glacier to Dig Kharkan where you are in front of Charpate Himal. This experiment will bring the poles as close as the tip of the Hinku Nap and Shari glaciers. Follow the path and walk carefully; the glacier route is the most difficult. After that there is a steep hill climb which ends at Khare. This increase is steeper than previous increases. Therefore, save some energy before starting this climb. The 3-4 hour uphill trek ends when you reach Khare for as many views of the Mera peak as possible. Khare is the adaptation point of the Mera Peak climbing route, which means you will spend another day here tomorrow.

Rest Day

The rest day after reaching Khare during the Mera Trek is a much-needed break to acclimatize and rejuvenate before continuing the ascent. Nestled amidst the stunning Himalayan surroundings, Khare offers breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance. Take this opportunity to relax, explore the area, and indulge in some self-care. Use the day to adjust to the high altitude, hydrate well, and prepare for the challenging days ahead as you embark on the final leg of the trek towards Mera Peak.

Trek from Khare to Mera Base Camp (4 hrs)

Base camp to high camp (4 hrs)

Summit to khare (4 hrs)

As you make your way to Khare, you can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment and awe at the natural beauty surrounding you. Finally, reaching Khare marks the end of an incredible journey, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the Mera Trek.

Khare to kothe (6 hrs)

Leaving behind the high-altitude base camp of Khare, the trail descends through lush rhododendron forests, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The path meanders alongside the glistening Hinku River, and occasional suspension bridges add an element of excitement to the trek. As you reach Kothe, a small riverside village, you can relax and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the surroundings, enjoying the peaceful ambiance before continuing your Mera Trek adventure.

Kothe to Tuli Kharka (6 hrs)

Walking for approximately 6 hours, the trail takes you through dense forests, enchanting rhododendron groves, and picturesque landscapes. Along the way, you’ll encounter remote villages and experience the local Sherpa culture. The trek provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, creating a memorable and rewarding experience as you make your way towards Tuli Kharka.

Tuli Kharka through Zatarwal Pass to Luka (7 hrs)

Final Departure, fly back to home

Following your morning meal, our representative will ensure your timely arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. If your plans involve an extended stay in Nepal or a late departure, kindly be aware that the hotel’s check-out time is at 11 am.
