Langtang Region

 

Langtang valley is one of the closest trekking destinations to Kathmandu, allowing easy access to visit one of the most beautiful trekking destinations in Nepal. Langtang valley combines magnificent cultural villages, Tamang Heritage trek, and Scenic Langtang valley with the  holy lakes at Gosainkunda and the spectacular Helambu valley.Langtang region offers natural peace and fantastic wild life viewing as it resides in Langtang National park which was the first National park in Nepal and is currently the second biggest National park in Nepal. Any trekking in the Langtang region is a wonderful choice for both nature lovers and adventurers.

Langtang Trek

The Mardi Himal trek is an amazing trekking route in the Annapurna Himalaya region. Mardi Himal are located east of the Modi Khola River, across the valley from Himchuli. At this time trek takes teahouses and camping too. We ascend through traditional villages and Oak and rhododendron forests on the trail of trekking. It is a very incredible short trek in Nepal.

It has an up-close view of Mount Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal and Mount Annapurna. The great rice fields and the blue glaciers of the Annapurana sanctuary walls lie below the trail. And can see Annapurnapurna base camp trekking, Gharepani- Ghandruk and Ghandruk –Khopra route too. The valley of Phokhara other villages on the bank of the River Mardi.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Arrival and transferred to Hotel. After refresh then prepare for trek and brief about the trek.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu – Syabrubesi 7-8 hrs.

 It takes about 7 to 8 hours’ drive to cover 117 km from Kathmandu to SyabruBesi. You can see on the Way Mountains and river bank and up and down mountains and gorges too. But you can enjoy along the way. And Shyabru is tiny town and guest houses. This a get way to Tamang Heritage /langtang valley trek and Tibet border too.

Day 3: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel, 6 hrs(2480m/8,134ft).

You will depart from the guest house and follow the main road. You climb lower down crossing the suspension bridge of Langtang Khola. You walk through forest and get to Paire/ Bamboo. After crossing the Bamboo you can see Rock Bees hives on the Rock and see wild animals. It means you can see monkeys and mountain goats.

Day 4:Lama Hotel – Langtang valley 6 hrs (3420m/11,217ft).

After breakfast begins trek from Lama hotel to Langtang valley. On the way uphill you can see monkeys/mountains goats and many birds. And  you can see Langtang Himla very nicely and along the way uphill follow the Langtang Khola. You can see closer mountains on the way. You never imagined about it. Langtang valley was destroyed by Gurkha earth quake April 25,2015.And youcan see there are memorial sign too.     

Day 5: Langtang valley- Kyanjin Gompa (3880m/12,726ft) 3 hrs.

Early in the Morning Mountains be shining with sunrise and you can feel amazed. You will see many more mountains on the way. When you walk on the way you can see some yaks too. You can visit Yak cheese factory.

Day 6: Tserko Ri/kyanjin Ri Hiking around.

Next morning you can Kyanjin Ri(1:30 hrs)/Tsergo Ri(5033m/16,508ft). And you can see views of Langtang Lirung, Gangchhempo and Kenga Himal ranges.  Or Langsi Kharka hiking.

Day 7: Trek Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel 6 hrs.

After your breakfast you start down to back Lama Hotel with view of Langtang valley and different shape of mountains and wild animals. 

Day 8: Trek Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi 5 hours of walking.

This is a day to end your walking in Himalaya wilderness after arrived in Syabrubesi our trekking starting point after 5 hours walk.

Day 9: Drive back Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

 You will back from Syabru Bensi to kathmandu. You can see along the down tresses and mountains and villages.

Day 10 : Departure to international.

Tamang Heritage Trek

Ghorepani trekking is short and pleasing circuit. It is an appropriate hiking tour for everyone. Ghorepani is a small settlement of major ethnic group situates at the elevation of 2800 m. On the ridge between Modi Khola valley and Kaligandaki valley. Ghorepani trekking includes hiking to Poon Hill to view magnificent view includes Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Annapurna Fang, Annapurna South, Annapurna IV, massif Dhawalagiri chain and Manaslu. Ghorepani trekking is a comprehensive journey with components of a charming major village in Ulleri, Gurung Village of Ghandruk, beautiful waterfalls, rhododendron, oak, and bamboo forest.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrival Tribhuwan Intl. Airport Kathmandu. And transfer to Hotel/stay at Hotel.

Day 2: Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi(7hrs)

Leave early morning from Kathmandu- Syabrubesi. It takes 7seven hours to get Syabrubesi. We can see very nice scenery valley,villages and gorges on the up Hill.

Day 3: Syabrubesi trek to Gatlang(5.5 hrs)

Syabrubesi is the common starting point for the Langtang Valley trek as well as the Gosainkund trek and way to Tibet. Instead of that  heading to Gatlang. After 2 hours get on the top of the Hill and can see fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, the Gosainkund range, and the Goljung Valley. After that we walk striate to Gatlang.

Day 4: Gatlang to Tatopani(Hot spring) (7 hrs)

After breakfast climb down to Thangbuchet. After Thambuchet  trail heads up again, across a hanging bridge and climbing to Tatopani(Hot spring),It is naturally Hot spring come from the ground sarface.

Day 5: Tatopani to Thuman ( 6 hrs)

The trail is along the way up hill through forest to Nagthali Danda (3,300m/10,824ft), a  high open grassland with amazing views point.   We can see GaneshHimal,Paldor peak,Labsanng karbo and Langtang region and beautiful Bridiam village. After lunch climb down to Thuman village.

Day 6:  Thuman – Briddim ( 5 hours)

Trek walk begins along a flatter section of trail get to Timure. It follows part of the old trade route to Tibet, and in fact, Tibet border is not far away just three hours’ walk. After lunch, the trail continues to Bridim village, where you’ll stay in a home stay for a truly unique experience.

Day 7: Briddim trek to Syabrubesi (3 hrs)

Today is an easy three-hour walk back down to Syabrubesi. Have lunch there, and then spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring. Syabrubesi is a small town, and there are some shops selling local handicrafts made by women, such as colorful aprons and shawls in the local style.

Day 8: Return to Kathmandu

Drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 9: Departure Intl airport.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Transfer at Hotel and after refreshment, meeting about the trek of Langatang. Brief and discussion about the trip.

Day 2:  Drive Kathmandu- Syabrubesi (7hrs).

Drive from Kathmandu passes through the Trysail River. You can see amazing scenery, landscape and vegetation on the way by Bus. You can see mountains from the Bus. Shyabrubesi is located near the near the river bank and small town too.

Day 3: Shyabrubesi- Lama Hotel,6hrs(2640m/8669ft)

We will commence trek left the Tibet border Road and right side cross the bridge. We cross the bridge heading to Paihire, Bamboo, Rimche and Lama Hotel.  Perhaps we can see some wild animals; Monkey, Mountain goats and Rock bees hanging on the Rock. We walk along the forest on the way. We can hear birds singing in the forest. We can enjoy along the trail up hill.

Day 4: Lama Hotel- Langtang village,6hrs (3340m/10,955ft).

We will commence walk up Hill from Lama Hotel to GhodaTabela(Horse shade). We can see the long tail monkey (languor) and some mountain goats too. And crossing River side, ghumanechock,Thomna, Ghoda Tabela,Thanshyap village and Langtang  village. We will spend a night in Langtang village.  

We will take a quick warm-up walk and view the sunrise from a hill today before starting the trek. Starting your day was never better as we make our way through the blooming rhododendron forest to Gunachock. The view clears today, and you can have a mesmerizing view of Langtang Lirung, Naya Kang and many other sub-ranges. You will pass the settlements of Thomna, Ghortabela, and Thyangsyap following the trail. Tamang culture showcases itself here, and you can take brief sops here. In the late afternoon, Langtang valley comes into sight, and from a distance, the village is picturesque and beautiful. Overnight at a lodge in Langtang village.

Day 5: Trek to KyanjingGompa 4 hrs (3860 m) from Langtang Village. 

Your trek of today is shorter in comparison to other days of the Langtang Gosainkunda trek. So, you will have enough time today to enjoy the surrounding beautiful view during the trek. In the morning, you can enjoy the short village tour. The village of Kyanjing is one of the culturally rich and significant settlements of the Langtang region. You can rest for the rest of the day and take a brief tour of the village. In the evening, you can pay a visit to the local cheese factory and try some of the delicacies. Overnight at Kyanjing village.

Day 6: Rest and acclimatization at Kyanjing

Acclimatization is a crucial key hiking in the Himalayas, and at an altitude of 3820 meters, Kyanjing will be an ideal stop. However, you can ease the pressure of altitude sickness with the short hiking options to the nearby amazing destinations. Your first stop today will be to Kyanjing gompa if you have not visited it yet. The beautiful paintings here are aged centuries old, and the Gompa itself holds great significance to the locals. Other popular options are also there giving you the perfect view of Langtang Lirung (7234 m), Yala peak, DorjeLakpa (6966 m) and Kangchenpo mountains from a close range. These three are some of the best promising short hiking sites near Kyanjing village.

After returning from the hike, you can rest for the day. Overnight at a lodge in Kyanjing village.

Day 7: Trek to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin 8 hrs

We will start our trek early and leave the Kyanjin village. The village will appear more beautiful than ever with the bright background of snow covered mountains. Our trek is mostly descending today, and we will walk through some of the earlier settlements to reach the Lama Hotel. You can encounter Himalayan sheep (Naurs) and beautiful Himalayan birds in the trail today. The walk will get more relaxed as you near the Lama Hotel. You will reach there in late afternoon and rest for the day.

Day 8: Trek to ThuloSyabru village 6 hrs (2540 m) from Lama Hotel.

The trail of today is the same as the halfway mark as the earlier hiking days to Pahiro. We will then choose the next route to the ThuloSyabru village today. Passing by the Bamboo village, we can see the SyabruBensi from the trail separating at Pahiro. For the last couple of hours, we will gradually do some uphill walk up to ThuloSyabru village. ThuloSyabru is a beautiful and comparatively more significant Tamang settlement of the Langtang region. Head for a village tour and try some local cuisine in the evening here. Overnight at a hotel in ThuloSyabru.

Day 9: Trek to Lauribina 7 hrs (3920 m) from Thulo Syabru

Our day will start with a Breakfast and the views of the majestic landscape surrounding the ThuloSyabru village. We will start trekking and do a gradual uphill trek to reach the ridge at Phoprang danda (3190 m). This Danda (hill) is popular among the visitors and locals for the fantastic fresh breeze accompanied by the majestic panoramic Mountain views. We will walk through patches of rhododendron forests amongst the sub-tropical ones to reach Sing Gompa or Chandan Bari. Taking a brief stop here we will walk further to the village of Lauribina. On the way to Lauribina, we will pass through a specified Sanctuary for the rare Red Panda. We will know Lauribina is close as the majestic views of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal appears more beautiful with every step. Overnight at a hotel in Lauribina.

Day 10: Trek to Gosaikunda 4 hrs (4210 m) from Lauribina.

We will start our day early as the best views of the Himalayas are available from the nearby ridge at Lauribina. Our trek today is short and to the holy lake of Gosaikunda. The trail is one of the most beautiful in this whole trek as we pass through pastures and small streams before reaching Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda is the most significant lake of our trek. However, there are more than dozens of small and big lakes surrounding the area. All of these beautiful lakes can be reached within some hours of hiking from central Lake. SaraswatiKunda (Lake), Bhairav Kund, DudhKund, RagatKund, Chandra Kund, and AmaKund are some of the major lakes we can reach today. Gosaikunda is a beautiful Lake with Hindu devotees visiting it all around the year. Legends say that the Hindu god of destruction made this lake to quench his thirst with his mighty Trishul to extract the Gosaikunda. Hence, the river which gets its water from here is well known as Trishuli which we crossed down in SyabruBesi. People here believe that their prayers will be answered by Lord Shiva if one walks to Gosaikunda with clean heart and worship at the shrine. The view of the Snow-capped the Himalayas below the sea of clouds from Gosaikunda is pristine as well. Overnight at a hotel in Gosaikunda.

Day 11: Gosainkunda to Gopte 7 hrs (3640) via Lauribina La pass (4610 m)

After viewing the beautiful sunrise from Gosaikunda, we will start our trek for the day to the village of Gopte. We will do the Lauribina La pass first which is also the highest point of our trek. Crossing three small lakes in the way, we will start our uphill rocky climb to Lauribina Pass. Once in the top, you can have an incredible 360-degree view of rocky hills and snow-capped mountains touching the horizon. After spending some time in the Pass, we will start our descend to the village of Gopte. Rest for the day in a lodge once you are in Gopte.

*Helambu region begins once on the other side of Lauribina La pass.

Day 12: Trek to Kutumsang 6 hrs (2540 m) from Gopte.

Our trek for today is to the village of Kutumsang is mostly downhill and through a lush sub-tropical forest. The trek is refreshing and walking down in the ridge we can have a spectacular view of DorjeLakpa and Shisha Psangma (8027 m) mountains. Crossing Magin Goth in the way we will walk further to the Kutumsang village today. Overnight at a lodge in Kutumsang village.

Day 13: Trek to Chisapani 7 hrs (2230 m) from Kutumsang

Chisapani is one of the most preferred day hike selection from Kathmandu. This trekking route includes this amazing destination as it promises many scenic, natural, and cultural delights. One can say that these trails highlight the beauty of the Helambu region as a whole. We will walk up and down the green hills to reach the natural viewpoint of Chisapani. We can have a fantastic view of the far and wide hills and mountains from here. This Picturesque setting is perfect for losing yourself and plunging into Natures lap in Nepal. Overnight at a hotel in Chisapani.

Day 14: Trek to Sundarijal 3 hrs from Chisapani and 1hr drive to Kathmandu

Our last day of the trek starts with an amazing sunrise view from your hotel in Chisopani. We will walk to Sundarijal and drive back to Kathmandu today. You will pass through multiple settlements where you can take brief stops to try some of the local snacks here. After reaching Sundarijal, you will take a private cab back to your hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening, you can enjoy the nightlife and do some souvenir shopping near your hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 15: Departure from TIA.

We will transfer you to the TIA couple of hours before the departure flight. In your spare time before the flight, you can revisit some nearby restaurants and monuments here. You will fly over Nepal back to your home with amazing experiences, thrilling stories, and lifelong memories of the Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu trek.
